I have seen many great free open source script which are free and great. Some of them are Punbb, PhPBB and phorum. I recently came across Ninkobb which looked great and worth trying if you are looking for a free forum software. For paid one Vbulletin is the best forum software. But these free forum script are also worth installing for your community dreams as you will not have to shed any penny for it.
